One of the hottest trends everyone is discussing right now is undoubtedly the smart city infrastructure. This topic has become even more relevant due to the growing need for quick data processing during the post-Covid-2019 era. Many telecom operators embraced this new application, as administrative representatives in charge of the deployment of smart city infrastructure in their municipalities, turned to these operators for help. The competition is fierce, and choosing the right vendor, able to provide the reliable solutions which will become the core of the smart platform, is of high importance. Then, tools for energy consumption control, monitoring traffic intensity, analysis of consumers’ habits in terms of waste management and so forth are being implemented. Another trend in this area is the support of a unified system for monitoring and processing the open data about city life, necessary for quick decision making and public safety provision, as well as controlling air purity and state of the infrastructure.

For the smart city infrastructure, we strongly recommend our point-to-point solutions Quanta 5 and Quanta 6. They are a perfect fit for adverse interference circumstances, easily scalable and perfect for a wide range of applications. For this one Quanta 70, a millimeter-band device with the compact form factor, is also ideal. These product families help to deploy the last mile infrastructure, control traffic, and install CCTV systems. As for more complex use, our flagship solutions, InfiMAN Evolution (point-to-multipoint) and InfiLINK Evolution (point-to-point) facilitate data transfer at long distance and management of deployed infrastructure.

It is fair to say that the digital divide issue still exists. Moreover, the pandemic did much to expose it, making it clear that this situation could no longer be ignored. Concerning this, the highest priority should be given to connectivity provision in remote, rural areas, and in the greenfield. And despite the common belief  that the digital divide is an issue most typical in developing and underdeveloped countries, it’s still relevant for even the strongest economies, however ironic that sounds. Those in need of digital equity are simple people, who need to gain knowledge urgently and have access to open data, caring of their mental health and doing their work efficiently under the present circumstances.

Our solutions not only have the necessary  characteristics in terms of distance and performance, but also match the highest requirements for minimal delays and reliability, which is why Infinet Wireless products are often used for high-definition video transmission. One of the biggest projects in this field was building a 180 km radio link, which united the Hibala islands and the peak of a mountain, separated by an expanse of water, with the variegated landscape. We’re proud of the fact that, together with the most renown Indonesian operator Telkomsel, we provided more than 10 thousand people with unparalleled connectivity.

Another important project in the area of bridging the digital divide was carried out in Mexico. There, Infinet Wireless solutions became part of the network infrastructure of the University of Guanajuato, where they needed proper connectivity in the difficult terrain, including the university’s main campus.

Fixed wireless broadband access solutions are characterized by such features as interference mitigation, further capacity increase and data transfer at fair distance. Additionally, our devices work faster than traditional wire systems, thanks to network functionality, as well as routing and commutation protocols support. Technically speaking, rural areas suffer because of difficult terrain, making the deployment of optical fiber inconvenient and even impossible, and turning to some expensive means, such as laser communication, isn’t cost-efficient at all.

Also, digital transformation is the phenomenon which is happening right now, with large enterprises which are aimed at moving forward at the forefront. The main objective is achieving accuracy and responsiveness when taking critical decisions, and also for the smooth operation of the corporate system, so it’s vital to ensure the reliability of the platform it’s based on. Our products help to achieve the necessary speed for data transfer, which is a high priority, including backing up and seamless network infrastructure operation. We’re proud that Infinet Wireless solutions are helping to speed up the digital transformation process and are making the Industry 4.0 concept become a reality.
