Named one of the 10 most promising Polish startups by EU Startups and recognized as one of six world-leading 5G Startups Building 5G Infrastructure by Nanalyze Magazine, Microamp Solutions has been laser-focused on solving the industry’s most complex engineering problems. Telecom Review spoke to Dawid Kuchta, CEO, Microamp, who shared his company’s core offerings and expansion plans.

How is Microamp helping industries and sectors in their digital transformation journeys?

Microamp provides customers with an intelligent and real-time multi-functional wireless platform enabling digitalization of the most sophisticated processes. Our solution enables real-time massive data streaming and data processing for advanced 8K or even 11K 360 VR camera systems mounted on drones or other autonomous vehicles. That way our customers can monitor and analyze the whole industrial plant in real-time. The same with VR, we provide wireless connectivity in the industrial plant to support the most advanced scenarios for VR headsets, for instance, to provide real-time assistance for workers during maintenance or service work.

Please tell us about Microamp’s offerings in industrial 5G mmWave network solutions.

Microamp offers a simple and extremely powerful wireless tool solving the problems with high-performance connectivity and the economic challenges of deploying 5G mmWave networks. This is the platform that is in fact a super-fast and ultra-low latency 5G mmWave private network which is extremely easy to deploy, maintain and service and allows for the implementation of many bandwidth-hungry use-cases. Our Plug&Play integrated mmWave radio units are the core of this solution. We provide customers with simple and efficient 5G mmWave network deployment instead of complex solutions.

What are the challenges and opportunities of deploying 5G mmWave networks in the MENA region?

MENA region is expected to grow significantly and the companies here are hungry for innovations. They want the best 5G products and they have a reasonable approach to that. It gives a lot of opportunities to deploy many use-cases that could not be enabled without 5G mmWave private networks.

Moreover, the oil and gas sector is focused within the MENA region and is a pioneer in using 5G private networks. It is a specific vertical with complex production processes that require massive data streaming in real-time to proceed with the full digitalization. This is a huge opportunity for 5G mmWave networks.

However, there are many technical and economic challenges in deploying 5G mmWave networks in the MENA region. The customers here want to have perfect state-of-the-art products and the competition is strong. The goal of companies like Microamp Solutions is to create and provide the customers with a unique 5G mmWave product solving these challenges and convince the customers about the advantages of the technology. That is the only way to revolutionize industries with 5G private networks and boost their processes.

How is Microamp collaborating with other industry players in terms of developing new 5G use cases?

We believe that partnerships are a key to success in the telecom market. That’s why we’re creating the complete ecosystem of partners around us to offer the customers e2e solutions, solving the most challenging problems. To do that, we need to deploy the use-cases based on groundbreaking technologies which we deploy together with partners. We want our solution to be a platform for fledging technologies and to enable these technologies that can be deployed by our partners and integrators. We offer them an open high-performance wireless system with edge computing onboard, very feasible for AI implementation, to integrate many types of IoT devices like cameras, drones, VR, AR and many others.

Where can we expect to see Microamp in the 5G market in the MENA and globally?

Currently, we are hyper-focused on oil and gas sector and this market segment is the most interesting for us. So, our first deployments target oil and gas industrial plants having very complicated production processes. Saudi Arabia and Qatar will be the first in the MENA region. Looking globally, we’re working hard to expand to US as well.
