HMD Global enjoyed incredible success globally with its diverse range of Nokia smartphones in 2017, and it firmly believes it can replicate that success in 2018 with its latest portfolio of devices. The Finnish company markets and manufacturers smartphones under the fabled Nokia brand. At Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, it unveiled four new Android devices to its line-up and introduced a revival of the Nokia 8110 which was originally released in 1996.

Chinese multinational telecommunications vendor Huawei has announced that it has penned 5G MoUs with 45 operators which spans across three continents - Asia, Europe and North America. Huawei's rotating CEO Ken Hu made the confirmation during Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona. In addition to this Hu also revealed that the Chinese vendor is already conducting pre-commercial trials with 30 mobile players.

Etisalat Misr (Etisalat Egypt) and Huawei have completed the world's first verification of Huawei's CloudAIR GL15MHz spectrum dynamic sharing solution on Etisalat Misr's 1800MHz network in Cairo, Egypt. The solution enables spectrum dynamic sharing between GSM and LTE with unprecedented overlap between the two, which increases both LTE data rate and cell capacity available in the 1800MHz spectrum allocation.

Qualcomm announced Tuesday that it is delaying its 2018 Annual Meeting of Stockholders pursuant to an Interim Order received on March 4 from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). Qualcomm slammed Broadcom's response to the order, after it accused Qualcomm of secretly filing a request for CFIUS review.
