The UAE’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) is showcasing its key projects at GITEX Technology Week 2020 in Dubai.

TRA’s participation consists of reviewing projects that fall under the development of digital government services, innovative ICTs, and highlights of its journey towards the transformation into an advanced and secure digital community in the UAE.

TRA’s participation comes as part of the Digital Government Stand featuring 20 federal government entities working as a team to uphold the principle of ‘one government with outstanding services’.

Visitors to the TRA pavilion will have an informative experience on the latest ICT developments, by learning about a number of innovative projects, their role in maintaining business continuity over the past period, and their contribution to employing top modern technologies in many services in human life, society, education, health, security and other fields.

Commenting on this participation, H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, TRA Director General, said, “Today we are proud to participate in this global tech event, which reflects UAE’s fast-pace recovery following the exceptional circumstances, as shown by the remarkable activity and the large presence of exhibitors from different parts of the world and those interested from all walks of life. This year’s expo brings together some of the world's most prominent and prestigious companies in the areas of technology and modern techniques. Such is a clear indication that the UAE is the gateway to the world in returning to normal life and organizing international events. We are proud of our successes in the past challenging months—and though our participation in GITEX Technology Week—we go over these success stories and our vision for a future based on digital transformation and sustainable development.”

Mr. Al Mansoori stressed that the participation of TRA in the Digital Government stand reflects its commitment to the wise leadership’s directives to work as one national team. He added, “We have worked as government entities in the spirit of one team over the past months, accelerating achievements and sustaining normalcy in the UAE. Today we are on the same track to achieve more and realize UAE’s visions and goals for the future”.

During its participation in GITEX Technology Week, the TRA is presenting the ‘Future Government’ project, latest developments on digital identity, and the digital signature project. The TRA is also showcasing the Digital Wallet project and the Digital Payment project.

The umbrella of UAE Digital Government and TRA include: Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health & Prevention, Ministry of Community Development, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, Securities and Commodities Authority, Federal Customs Authority, Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, Insurance Authority, National Qualifications Authority, Zakat Fund, Emirates Red Crescent and UAE University.

GITEX Technology Week is the largest exhibition of information and communication technology in the region, held this year under special precautionary measures, with the aim of providing a rich, useful and safe experience for all visitors, while introducing them to the latest developments in various technological fields.
