Virgin Mobile puts the customer experience at the core of its strategy and by introducing on demand eSIM switching through their app, without the need to visit a store, they continue to use digital innovation to drive simplicity, making their customer’s mobile life better.

To do the switch from physical SIM to eSIM, customers simply open their Virgin Mobile app, select ‘My Numbers’ and ‘Move to eSIM’, a verification SMS is then sent for authentication and within those few steps, the eSIM is installed without the need to visit a store.

New customers who have an eSIM compatible device can also opt to have their Virgin Mobile eSIM activated at their home or office within an hour via Virgin Mobile’s unique home delivery service, by downloading the Virgin Mobile app via the Play store or App store, choosing their favourite number or transferring their current one from any network, creating their customised mobile plan and selecting eSIM.

eSIM made its appearance in the UAE in the last quarter of 2018, allowing mobile users to directly embed their electronic SIM to their compatible device. This innovation permits customers to have several SIMs within their mobile, making life easier for UAE users who are currently carrying two mobiles or who have multiple SIM cards from different countries.
