With the active participation and sponsorship of the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), SAMENA held its annual summit at the Atlantis Hotel in Dubai, in the presence of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence in the United Arab Emirates, as a guest of honor at the summit, and with the participation of a group of decision-makers and workers in the field of ICT in the public and private sectors in the Middle East and North Africa region.

The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) has announced the nomination of H.E. Eng. Mohammed Al Ramsi, TDRA Deputy Director General for the Telecommunication Sector, as Chairman of the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC) 2023, one of the largest global platforms of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), hosted by the United Arab Emirates at the Dubai World Trade Center from November 20 to December 15, 2023.

In an effort to invest in Iraq's strategic location, the Minister of Communications, Dr. Hiyam Al-Yasri, held a meeting at her office at the Ministry with the submarine cable company, Gulf Bridge International (GBI).

Shipments totaled 268.5 million units in Q1 2023, which, when compared to the previous year, marks a decrease of 12.7%. Two of the largest OEMs, Samsung and Xiaomi, reported 18.3% and 22.0% falls in shipments year-on-year, respectively. Realme has taken one of the largest YoY falls, from 15 million shipments in Q1 2022 to 8 million in Q1 2023, a 43.8% slump.
